The short version

1. Who this policy is from

Curfew ("the app", "we", "us") is published by Mastech Consulting Pty Ltd, based in Victoria, Australia. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information when you use it.

Questions about this policy, or a request about your information, go through our contact form: tally.so/r/yP5Kk0. It reaches us directly and we read everything that comes in.

2. What Curfew stores on your device

Curfew keeps a small amount of information in your phone's local app storage so that it can do its job between launches. None of it is transmitted to us, because the app has no backend.

What Why it exists
Your settings, per site Your chosen daily budget, quiet-hours window, mode, and which of the calming options are switched on.
Time used, per site, per day A count of seconds spent on each site each day, so the budget and the weekly view work.
Your onboarding answer The rough band you picked for how long you usually spend on a site, and the date you finished setup — used only to show your own "time avoided" figure.
Extra-time record The date you last claimed five extra minutes, so it can be offered once a day.
Your analytics choice Whether you have switched off anonymous usage analytics, so the app remembers it between launches. See section 5.
Your location rules, if you set any up The coordinates and radius of the places you pin yourself (for example home, or a gym), the hours you chose, and which apps a rule blocks. Used only on your phone, to work out whether a rule is currently in force.

Location

If, and only if, you set up a location rule, Curfew asks for permission to use your location and then checks your position against the places you pinned. This happens entirely on your phone. Your position is not recorded, not kept as a history, and never sent to us or to anyone else. The coordinates of the places you pin are stored on your device alongside your other settings, and they go when the app goes. If you set up no location rules, Curfew never asks for the permission and never looks.

This information never leaves your device. We cannot read it, recover it, or restore it if you delete the app or change phones.
